Faults
Note
Faults and malfunctions occurring during the warranty period and requiring repair work on
the geared motor must be remedied only by Technical Support.
If faults without a clearly identifiable cause occur after the warranty period has elapsed,
consult Technical Support.
If you need the help from Technical Support, please have the following information ready:
• Rating plate data
• Nature and extent of the fault
• Suspected cause.
Note
Damage to the machine caused by faults
• Correct the cause of the fault as specified in the remedial measures section.
• Repair any damage to the machine/motor.
Note
When operating the motor with a converter, refer also to the operating instructions of the
frequency converter if electrical faults occur.
• If changes occur with respect to normal operation or faults, determine the cause using the
"Possible faults" table.
• If you have identified the cause, attempt to resolve the fault using the "Key – fault causes
and remedial measures" table.
• In this regard, observe the relevant chapter in the documentation associated with the
components of the complete drive system
• Even in test operation, never disable protective functions or devices
