4.10 Mount the oil expansion unit
Installing the oil expansion unit size 1
Note
Prevent the ingress of contamination and corrosive atmosphere into the gearbox when
unscrewing the vent valve.
Procedure
1. Completely unscrew the pressure vent valve with transport fixture.
2. Screw in the completely preassembled oil expansion unit.
3. Align the oil expansion unit so that it is in a vertical position.
You have now installed the oil expansion unit.

Replace the vent valve of the unit yearly.
Installing the oil expansion unit size 2
You can fasten the oil expansion unit at 4 positions on the geared motor.
We recommend position 1 or position 2.
When you secure the unit on your installation, start with step 4 of the procedure. The
supplied hose is 1 m long.
Procedure
1. Remove the two 1210 screws from position 1, position 2, position 3 or position 4. The
screws are no longer required.
2. Screw base plate 1452 with the 1453 screws and the 1454 washers to the gear unit.
Tightening torque for M12 screw 1453: 90 Nm. Tightening torque for M16 screw 1453:
210 Nm.
3. Fasten bracket 1455 with the screws 1456, locking nuts 1458 and washers 1457 to base
plate 1452.
Tightening torque for screw 1456: 25 Nm.
Use the elongated hole to adjust the distance from the oil expansion unit to the motor.
4. Screw pressure relief valve 1420 into tank 1451 with 35 Nm torque.
5. Fasten tank 1451 with clips 1459 to bracket 1455 or at an appropriate location on the unit.
Ensure that pressure relief valve 1420 points upwards.
6. Screw reduction piece 1460 with 35 Nm torque onto the lower side of tank 1451.
7. Press one end of hose 1463 onto angular hose nozzle 1461.
8. Fix hose end 1463 with clip 1462.
