Powering on the Stack

Please verify the following before powering on the stack for the first time:
If you are using SFP/SFP+ ports for the trunk, are you using
approved stacking cables? Refer to "Default 15/S1 and 16/S2
Ports" on page 38.
If you are using twisted pair ports as the trunk, are you using
Standard TIA/EIA 568-B-compliant shielded Category 6a cabling or
better?
Did you verify that both switches have the same version of the
AlliedWare Plus management software? If they have different
versions, upgrade both to the most recent version before powering
on the stack.
Do you have optional features or licenses to install on the
switches? If so, install them before powering on the units as a
stack.
After configuring the master and member switches, you are ready to cable
the ports of the stack trunk and power on the stack for the first time. (If you
want to monitor the power-on sequence, connect a terminal or computer
with a terminal emulator program to the Console port on either switch).
To power on the stack for the first time, perform the following procedure:
1. Verify that the master and member switches are powered off.
2. Cable the ports of the stack trunk on the two switches. Refer to
"Cabling the Trunk Ports" on page 126.
3. Power on both switches at the same time. Refer to "Powering on a
Switch" on page 83.
Note
Refer to "Power Specifications" on page 144 for the power
specifications of the switches.
Warning
Power cord is used as a disconnection device. To de-energize
equipment, disconnect the power cord.  E3
