Command Summary

STACKPORT

STACK
ENABLE
STACK
PRIORITY
The following sections briefly describe the commands for configuring the
master and member switches for stacking with non-default trunk ports. For
further instructions, refer to the Software Reference for XS900MX Switch,
AlliedWare Plus Operating System. After reviewing the commands, go to
"Configuring the Master Switch" on page 110 to begin the configuration
procedures.
This command is used to designate the ports of the stack trunk. After you
enter the command, the designated ports stop functioning as regular
Ethernet ports and function instead as the stack trunk. You do not have to
perform this command for the default trunk ports because they are already
defined as trunk ports.
The command is performed in the Interface mode of the selected ports. In
this example, the ports 1 and 2 on the switch are designated as the stack
trunk:
awplus(config)# interface port1.0.1-1.0.2
awplus(config-if)# stackport
To remove the stacking function from ports and return them to regular
Ethernet networking ports, use the NO version of the command. You must
use this command to remove the stacking function from the default trunk
ports before designating other ports as the trunk. This example removes
the stacking function from the default stacking ports 15 and 16:
awplus(config)# interface port1.0.15-1.0.16
awplus(config-if)# no stackport
This command is used to enable the VCStack feature on the switch. You
will probably not have to perform this command because the feature is
enabled by default. However, if for any reason the feature was disabled,
you can enable it by entering the command in the Global Configuration
mode, as shown here:
awplus(config)# stack enable
To disable stacking to use the switch as a stand-alone unit, enter the NO
version of the command, shown here:
awplus(config)# no stack enable
This command is used to assign priority numbers to the switches of the
stack. The switches use the numbers to select the master switch. The
lower the number the higher the priority. The unit with the lowest number
becomes the master. If they have the same priority value, they use their
