"Dynamic" operating
mode

Functional description
If the "dynamic" operating mode is set, the DALI device or one channel is
capable of implementing a staircase lighting function or special lighting
sequences.
In order to allow the greatest possible variations, the dynamic sequence has
been programmed so that it is composed of two scenes (see Figure 8). In
order to set the chronological sequence, the "Dynamic" and "Scene"
parameter windows have to be considered. In the "Scene" parameter
window, the DALI devices intended for use in the dynamic operating mode
should be parameterised individually with their lightscene values and
transition values. In the "Dynamic" parameter window, the run time of the
scenes are defined. After the operating time of the start scene has elapsed,
the end scene commences with a transition time and an operating time. The
device is switched off after the operating time. A cut-out warning (to DIN
18015) can be implemented with the end scene.
The dynamic operation commences with a start scene and terminates with
an end scene. Any scenes from the 15 gateway scenes can be used for the
scenes.

Only one dynamic operation can be defined for each DALI-Gateway. Each
device can run the parameterised dynamic operation arbitrarily and
independently of the other devices. If more devices should follow the
parameterised chronological sequence in dynamic operation, all Device xy
"Switch/Status" objects should be linked with the same group address.
DALI has a relative slow transfer rate of 1200 Baud, therfore it
is possible that EIB / KNX groups with more than 7 DALI
samples switched or dim not at the same time. The reason is
that one EIB/KNX telegramm released up to 64 single DALI
telegramms.
This behaviour is irrelevant for the broadcast mode.
The sequence parameterised in dynamic operation is accessed for a device
in channel A via the communications object "Device Axy Switch/Status" (xy =
01...64). The dynamic operation of a DALI device from channel A can be
accessed in the same way as every device of channel B by the
communication objects "Select Device" and "Selected Device On / Off".
To help in understanding this concept, the parameterisation of a staircase
lighting function with several devices is described as an example in chapter
4.
The start of dynamic operation is implemented via a telegram with the value
"1". A telegram value of "0" has no effect.
