Project design and programming
The DALI-Gateway from ABB opens up a variety of possibilities to the user
for operating and adjusting the lighting in a convenient, individual and
targeted way.
The main channel of the 1-fold DALI-Gateway allows individual addressing
and control of 64 DALI devices. Thus a single DALI cable pair is sufficient to
control up to 64 DALI devices individually. The individual addressing of the
devices is implemented automatically by the gateway and can be manually
changed as required with the DGS11 Software Tool. Subsequently, the
individual devices on the EIB / KNX can be switched, dimmed or the
brightness can be controlled in the normal manner via the EIB / KNX group
assignment.
An application-oriented commissioning can occur just before moving into a
building if the final usage has been defined. A complex and time-consuming
change of the installation (rewiring) is not necessary.
Two examples of a possible assignment for a 4-fold switch sensor in an
office with two lighting strips and an additional lamp are shown in the
following section.
Fig. 36
Office example
Example 1 "Individual solution"
Devices TL1, TL2, TL3 and TL4 A (lighting strip 1) are controlled using the
first push button via an EIB / KNX group assignment. A short push button
action switches the lighting strip ON/OFF (1/1/0). Lighting strip 1 is dimmed
up or down with a long push button action (1/2/0).
The second push button controls lighting strip 2 which is connected to
devices TL5, TL6, TL7 and TL8 (lighting strip 2) via the EIB / KNX group
1/1/1. Switching (1/1/1) and dimming (1/2/1).
