Appendix
The DGS11 Software Tool runs on an IBM or IBM compatible PC or laptop
with Microsoft Windows operating systems from Windows 2000 or higher.
ETS does not need to be installed on the computer for the software tool to
function. It is sufficient for the Falcon driver to be installed on the PC and a
connection to the EIB / KNX to be established via the RS232 or USB
interface. The DALI-Gateway DG/S 11 to be edited is selected in the DGS11
Software Tool by entering the physical device address.
A Falcon driver is normally installed if ETS3 is installed on the computer.
You can check this on your computer by looking at 'Software' in the 'Control
Panel'. For example, the entry "EIBA etec Falcon Runtime V1.23" must exist.
If no Falcon driver exists, it can be installed by a .msi file. This file is
contained in the ZIP file of the DGS11 Software Tool. The Falcon driver is
installed by simply running (e.g. double clicking) this file.
By executing (e.g.
(DGS11_Software_Tool.exe), the DGS11 Software Tool folder will be
created. You can unpack the file at any location. The following files are
contained in the folder:
DGS11 Software-Tool dt-engl.exe: Main program, the DGS11 Software Tool
is started by running (e.g. double clicking) this file.
FalconSupport.dll: This file must be located in the same folder as the cfg file
and exe file. This file contains system information.
Settings.cfg: This file contains the settings entered manually by the operator.
If this file is deleted accidentally, the software tool will independently create a
new one.
FalconRuntime.msi: The Falcon driver is installed on your computer with this
file. The file is no longer required if the Falcon driver is already installed.
No installation is necessary to start the DGS11 Software Tool. The .exe file
simply needs to be run, e.g. with a double click.
ETS is no longer required once the physical device address of the DG/S 1.1
has been assigned.
