One Door Fails To Lock And Unlock From Any Switch - Chrysler Concorde 2004 Service Manual

Symptom:

*ONE DOOR FAILS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK FROM ANY SWITCH

DOOR LOCK MOTOR - OPEN
LOCK RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
DRIVER DOOR LOCK MOTOR - OPEN
DRIVER UNLOCK RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
LOCK RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
UNLOCK RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
DRIVER DOOR UNLOCK RELAY OPEN
TEST
1 Operate the door locks to determine which door lock is not operating properly.
Is there a problem with the Driver Door Lock?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 6
No
2 NOTE: This test is for a motor that is completely inoperative. If the motor
either locks OR unlocks refer to symptom list for problems related to
DRIVER DOOR FAILING TO-.
Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch connector.
Connect a 12-volt Test Light between the Driver Door Unlock Relay Output and the
Door Lock Relay Output circuits in the door lock motor connector.
Press the Door Lock Switch in the Lock and Unlock positions and observe the test
light.
Does the Test Light flash on and off as the switch is pressed?
Yes → Replace the Driver Door Lock Motor.
→ Go To 3
No
3 Disconnect the Driver Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch connector.
Remove the Door Lock Relay in the Junction Block.
Measure the resistance of the Lock Relay Output circuit between the Lock Relay
Output connector and the Driver Door Lock Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the Lock Relay Output circuit for an open.
No
