Data backup via fieldbus interface

The unit offers the possibility of data exchange with a Fieldbus master. The system and program
parameter can be stored in the PLC via the fieldbus. In addition, stored or modified data can be
written back again into the control unit.
When writing the data back to the unit, the system parameters must be transferred before the
program parameters.
10.6

Data backup via USB interface

The unit provides data backup (system and program parameters) via USB interface (the upper
USB slot). For performing a backup the RPP7 software is used.
According to the operating systems, there are the following software versions:
• RPP7 V1.x
After installation the instructions for the appropriate program can be accessed via the help function
(pdf).
Note the following:
• First, install the software. Then connect the device.
• Your installation directory must have write permissions for later users.
• For connecting use the USB Cable A Plug to A plug (within scope of delivery).
• Connect only one Roland device to a PC.
• The drivers are included on the CD.
• Switch the device to backup mode (For details refer to chapter 7.10).

Firmware update via USB interface

The unit is equipped with a separate USB interface (the lower USB slot) for updating the firmware
with help of the supplied RPP7-Software.
According to the operating systems, there are the following software versions:
• RPP7 V1.x
• SAM-BA
The instructions of the programs can be accessed via the help function after installation (pdf).
Note the following:
• First, install the software. Then connect the device.
• Your installation directory must have write permissions for later users.
• For connecting use the USB Cable A Plug to A plug (within scope of delivery).
• Connect only one Roland device to a PC.
• The drivers are included on the CD.
• Switch the device to firmware update mode (For details refer to chapter 7.11).

Roland Electronic recommends to inventory the following spare parts (minimum):
