Shipping and storage conditions for the C230-2

The C230-2 surpasses the requirements set out in IEC 1131, Part 2 in respect of
shipping and storage conditions. The following details apply to modules that are
shipped and stored in their original packaging.

Mechanical and climatic environmental conditions for
the operation of the C230-2
Operational conditions
The C230-2 is not protected against the weather and intended for non-mobile use.
Operational conditions surpass the requirements set out in IEC 1131-2.
The C230-2 meets the operational conditions for Class 3C3 in accordance with
DIN EN 60721 3-3 (use at locations with a high density of traffic and in close prox-
imity to industrial plants with chemical emissions).
The C230-2 may not be used without additional measures.
S At locations with high levels of ionizing radiation
S At locations with severe operating conditions, e.g. as a result of
– Dust
– Corrosive vapors or gases
S In systems that require special monitoring, such as
– Elevators
– Electrical systems in premises at special risk
An additional measure for the use of the C230-2 may, for instance, be installation
in cabinets.
