Performing an overall reset on the C230-2

An overall reset is a procedure that starts a new ramp up process.
What happens during an overall reset?
The following data on the C230-2 is deleted:
S Configuration data
S Programs
S Parameterizations
S Technology packages
S Retain variables
Retain variables are variables that are defined as "Non-volatile variables" in the
user program using the key word "Retain".
The following data is retained:
S SIMOTION Kernel (if available on the Micro Memory Card)
S Baud rate
S PROFIBUS DP addresses of the C230-2 (X8, X9)
S IP address, subnet dialog box and router address of the C230-2
The content of the diagnostics buffer is retained.
The technology packages and user data (configuration data, programs, parameter-
izations) are transferred from the Micro Memory Card into the "Volatile data" area
of the C230-2.
After the overall reset, a project existing on an inserted Micro Memory Card is valid
and activated.
When does an overall reset have to be performed on the C230-2?
S If you wish to undo the changes in your user data (programs, configuration
data, parameterizations) in the "Volatile data" area of the C230-2.
Note:
If resetting is not performed, the consistency of your user data cannot be guar-
anteed.
S If the C230-2 requests an overall reset by the STOP LED flashing (slow flash-
ing) (e.g. Micro Memory Card has been removed).
