7 Operation

Third-party software updates and installations can slow the
system and impact software performance.
Anti-virus software an other applications perform periodic update
installations automatically, which use system resources that impact
the performance of other software.
If the CLARUS® 500 software seems to be running slowly,

check whether other software (for example, anti-virus software)
is installing updates.
Wait until the installations are complete or allow more time for
u
software response while the installation is in progress.

7.1 Safety During Operation

Improper operator training
could lead to poor scan quality, damage to system components, or
inadvertent patient safety compromise.
Train all operators fully.

Ensure all personnel are familiar with the information contained
u
in the Safety and Certifications chapter.
Ensure that routine maintenance has been properly carried out
u
in conformance with the Maintenance Schedules described in
the Maintenance chapter.

[} 149].

7.2 Preparing the Device

To prepare the device:
1. Wipe the chin rest and forehead rest with an alcohol pad, and
allow the assembly to dry. (See Cleaning the Chinrest and
Forehead Support [} 153].)
2. Carefully read and understand any instructions provided by the
officiating physician or researcher.

7.2.1 Finding a Patient

To find a patient:
1. In the Search bar, type the first name, last name, patient ID, or
a scan date of the person you want to find.
2. Click the Search icon.
3. To refine your search criteria, use Advanced Search.
