6.2 Installing the Equipment
6.2.1 Setting up the Equipment
Procedure

Placing equipment with cooling under a bench
When placing the equipment with cooling under a bench, observe
the following:
The minimum distance between the equipment and the un-
derside of the bench top is 100 mm.
When operating the equipment with installed cooling, heat
can accumulate under a closed laboratory bench. This can
reduce the temperature range of the equipment and result in
increased power consumption. Hence, we recommend only
installing the equipment under a laboratory bench with air
vents.
ATTENTION
Failure to comply with the required minimum distances can re-
sult in components of the equipment overheating and the equip-
ment being damaged. As such, please observe the following
points:
–
Never cover the air vents on the rear of the equipment.
–
Never position the equipment right up against a wall.
To set up the equipment, proceed as follows:
1.
Position the equipment on a flat, non-slip surface, complying
with the requirements for the installation location. In doing so,
keep in mind that the insulation mat (1) between the equip-
ment and the ground must not be removed.
2.
Remove transport safety devices (foam wedges).
3.
Store the foam wedges for further use. Insert the foam
wedges whenever you change the position of the equipment.
