must be 0 to 1.
All result words must be in the same data area. MLPX(110) requires either 4 or
32 result words, depending on the type of conversion performed.

4-to-16: 0 to 3
8-to-256: 0 or 1
Number of digits to be converted
4-to-16: 0 to 3 (1 to 4 digits)
