Symptom
1Z30 Tape Drive Problems
T230 tape drive green light
flashes rapidly and tape
does not complete loading.
TZ30 passes power-up test
but does not operate.
Cartridge release lever does
not slide.
Cartridge release lever does
not lock.
Possible Cause
The drive mechanism is
faulty or the tape cartridge
is damaged.
No cartridge in drive.
Cartridge is in use.
Cartridge is not inserted
properly.
Three lights are flashing. Drive detected a fatal error.

Suggmted Solution
Slide the lever to the unlock position and
r^ove tiie cartridge. Check to see if the
cartridge is damaged.
Insert the cartridge and slide the lever to tiie
lock position.
Wait for green light to come on and try again.
If the problem persists, do not use the drive.
Call for service.
Reinsert the cartridge. If the problem persists,
call for service.
Press and release the unload button to clear
tiie fault. Perform the load operation again.
If the condition persists, do not attempt to
remove the tape cartridge or use the tape
drive. Call your service representative.
If a tape cartridge caimot be inserted into
the TZ30 tape drive, move the cartridge lever
to the lock position and back to tiie unlock
position.
Do not push a tape cartridge into the TZSO
while moving the cartridge lever between
the lock and unlock positions. The TZ30
interprets this movement as an insertion of
a tape cartridge.
