7.3.2

Mounting a y-axis on an x-axis

1. Place the square adjustment plate in the centre of the x-axis.
The adjustment plate ensures that the y-axis is aligned exactly at right
angles to the y-axis.
2. Place the y-axis on the x-axis. Place one of the fixing strips with threaded
openings below the y-axis so that the cramping edges fit inside the ridges of
the x-axis. Hold the strip firmly.
3. Place two non-threaded fixing strips with their cramping edges inside the ridges
of the y-axis. Slide the strips so that the openings on the upper strip coincide
with threaded openings of the lower fixing strip.
Fix the strips with two screws lightly so that the axis can still slide about.
4. Treat the other side of the axis in the same manner. Slide the y-axis so that it
lies as centrally as possible above the x-axis.
5. Fasten the screws.
