Assembling and adjusting the prism

The prism is a sensitive component and must therefore be built in after delivery.
Do not touch the prism glass with your fingers or sharp or pointed objects.
Remove the protective cap from the objective.
Insert the prism in the opening and push it upward until it clicks into position.
The prism can be tilted in order to change the viewing angle of the drop. The
advantage of this arrangement is that the position of the drop image does not
alter and the image itself is not distorted.
The tilting angle is regulated by using the rotary knob beside the prism. When
the instrument is switched on the scale on the left-hand side of the housing
shows the set tilt angle.
The default settings are 0° for pendant drops and +2° for sessile drops (contact
angle measurements).
