Getting Help
Table 42-1 Troubleshooting Your Terminal, Continued
Problem
You are not able to make a network
connection using the Winterm Connections
Manager.
If any other error messages are displayed, or you have any other problems, you
should restore the terminal to its default settings and reconfigure it. Factory defaults
can be restored by disconnecting the power to the terminal, then reconnecting it
while holding down the G key. Release the G key when the splash screen appears
(for the 3320SE and 3720SE, also press and release the power management
button, then release the G key). The terminal's defaults will be restored.
Solution
1. Press F2 to invoke the Terminal
Properties dialog box.
2. Select the Network tab.
3. Verify that the proper method for specifying
the IP address is selected, DHCP or static
IP. If a static IP address is selected, verify
that the IP address, the subnet mask, and
the gateway IP address are correct for the
subnet that the terminal is connected to.
4. Verify that a cable is connected to the
network connector on the back panel of the
terminal.
5. Check the other end of the cable to ensure
that it is connected to a hub or other
network outlet. If DHCP addressing is
selected, check with your network
administrator to ensure that the DHCP
server for your subnet is functioning
properly.
