10 Fiber Optic Ring module (FOR-MM1 / SM1 / XM1)
The PROFIBUS Fiber Optic Ring module makes it possible to create
reliable ring structured fiber optic connections over multimode, single
mode or a mix of these modes. It is a galvanic isolation between devices
and segments and can be used over long distances. It is even possible to
create chain structured networks by using two or more modules in one
ComBricks set.
The fiber optic ring modules can be placed side by side with repeater
modules. Just like any other communication module, the channels are
directly connected with the ProfiTrace OE core in the Head Station.
Busmonitor data is directly available in the web server.
The use of mixed mode modules enables network designs with both
multimode and single mode paths. When using the XM1 module, make
sure to connect the multimode cable to channel 1 and the single mode
cable to channel 2.
Firmware version v1.288 or higher is required to run these modules. Please update your firmware
before using the Fiber Optic Ring modules.
