12.2 Monitoring mode

If you have an existing PA network, you can add up to three PA modules as a monitoring and alarming tool. It
measures telegrams and electrical signals which can be displayed in the web server. This is very similar to the
standard Scope repeater card for PROFIBUS DP. The monitoring mode is enabled if:
1. No power is connected to the PA Power connector on the top of the module.
The internal termination is automatically switched OFF in monitoring mode.
rd
2. The 3
dipswitch (LNK) is set to OFF (left).
If the module is used in Monitoring Mode, make sure to set the Network Selection to a different
network than networks already used by the ComBricks set. See paragraph 3.10.1 for an explanation
how to do this. If the module is set to the same network, all PA messages will also be transmitted on
the DP network! This will cause errors.

12.2.1 Module status

The module status page in the web server displays the following useful status information, see Fig. 80
DC voltage (measured PA bus voltage)
DC plus and min value (measured PA plus and min voltages)
DC noise (measured variation in DC voltage)
DC unbalance (measured difference between +/- and shield)
Current consumption (measured mA supplied to the PA network by the module)

To view the page above, click on 'Status' in the upper left corner and then the appropriate PA module.
