12.1 Quick Start checklist
This checklist lists all the steps to a quick usage of the PA module in Link or Coupler mode. It is assumed that a
running ComBricks set with at least one DP repeater module or fiber optic coupler module is already active.
STEP 1:
Provide the Head Station 1B or 1C with the latest firmware, at least v1.279.
STEP 2:
Add an empty backplane slot to the ComBricks set.
STEP 3:
Configure the PA module to the same network as a DP repeater module.
NOTE: for monitoring mode, use a different and unused network!
STEP 4:
Insert the PA module in the empty slot.
STEP 5:
Check the Channel List (in web browser) to see if the PA module appears.
For Monitoring Mode: skip to STEP 8.
STEP 6:
Power the top of PA coupler module.
STEP 7:
Check the status page of the PA module: is DC voltage OK?
Not too much noise on DC? Current consumption ± 10mA?
STEP 8:
Connect the PA trunk cable with PA station(s).
STEP 9:
Check the status page of the PA module:
Current consumption increased?
For Monitoring mode: Skip to STEP 11.
STEP 10: Use the GSD Converter to change the PA GSD files.
STEP 11: Setup a master on the DP side.
STEP 12: Check the Scope Signals of the PA trunk.
