8.0 Trouble-shooting

This section describes how to remove functional faults.
Fault
Unit does not start up
(indicator light in switch not illuminated)
Alarm after start up
(fi lter monitor is displayed)
Alarm after start up
(fi lling level monitor is displayed)
Alarm during suction
(fi lling level monitoring is displayed)
No alarm when collection jar full
Alarm during suction
(fi lter monitoring is displayed)
Possible cause
– Mains plug not inserted properly
– No power
– Collection jar full
– Bacterial filter blocked or not
pletely dry
– Drainage accessories connected
– Collection jar full
– Contact element short-circuited
– Collection jar full
– Heavy foaming
– When using the trolley, contact strip
may be dirty
– Contact fault between collection jar
and the ATMOS S 351 Natal
– Bacterial fi lter blocked
– Hose connection to pump kinked
Please clean your ATMOS S 351 Natal before
sending it for servicing.
Remedies
– Check mains plug
– Check mains power supply in
building (fuse)
– Check equipment fuses
– Check safety and collection jars and
empty, if required
– Replace bacterial fi lter
com-
– Remove drainage accessories
(thoracic drainage not possible)
– Empty collection jar
– Remove metal connection on
contact (possibly also on trolley
rail!). Also check the connections
for trolley fi xation at the bottom of
the unit.
– Empty collection jar
– Use anti-foaming device
– Clean contact strip
– Check whether the collection jar a n d
its closure system have
engaged correctly in the bracket and
whether the ATMOS S 351 Natal
has been screwed correctly to the
trolley
– Clean / replace fi lter
– Attach hose in such way
that it does not kink
