Brake and Parking Brake Warning Light Symptom Diagnosis
NOTE:
Make sure that any DTC is not detected by BCM before starting the troubleshooting by using the
following table. If any DTC is detected, troubleshoot the DTC advance.
Condition
Brake warning light does
not light up when brake
fluid level is low or
parking brake is pulled up
or for 5 speeds after
turning ON ignition switch
(with ABS vehicle only)
Brake warning light stays
ON
Seat Belt Reminder Light Symptom Diagnosis (If Equipped)
NOTE:

Seat belt reminder light
does not light up
Seat belt reminder light
stays ON
A/T Shift Position Indicator (A/T Vehicle Only) Symptom Diagnosis

indicator does not light up

EBD system faulty
Wiring or ground faulty
Combination meter faulty

Replace fuse and check for short circuit.

Repair circuit.
Replace combination meter.
Check brake fluid level switch referring to

Check parking brake switch referring to

Refer to "EBD Warning Lamp (Brake Warning
Lamp) Check: in Section 4E".
Repair circuit.
Replace combination meter.
Correction / Reference Item
Replace fuse and check for short circuit.
Check seat belt switch referring to "Front Seat
Belt Inspection: in Section 8A".
Repair circuit.
Replace combination meter.
Check seat belt switch referring to "Front Seat
Belt Inspection: in Section 8A".
Repair circuit.
