DTC P1614 Transponder Response Error
Possible Cause and Trouble Area

• Temporary error
• Use of the ignition key without the transponder
• Corruption of the transponder in the ignition key
• Immobilizer control module faulty
• ECM faulty
Troubleshooting
Step
1
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) confirmation:
1) Clear DTC(s) referring to "Diagnostic Trouble Code
(DTC) Clearance: ".
2) Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
3) Check if any DTC is detected referring to "Diagnostic
Trouble Code (DTC) Check: ".
Is DTC P1614 still detected?

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) check:
1) Check if any DTC other than P1614 is detected referring
to "Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Check: ".
Is any DTC other than P1614 is detected?

Registration of the new ignition key with ECM and
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) check:
1) The transponder in the ignition key is corrupted or the
ignition key without the transponder is used. Therefore,
prepare the new ignition key.
2) Register the transponder code in the transponder in the
new ignition key with ECM referring to "Registration of
the Ignition Key: ".
3) Make sure that DTC P1614 is not detected referring to
"Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Check: ".
Is DTC P1614 still detected?

Check for fault of immobilizer control module:
1) Check immobilizer control module referring to
"Inspection of Immobilizer Control Module and Its Circuit:

Is immobilizer control module normal?
