Parameters
simple: Specifies the plaintext PIN, a string of four to eight digits, for the SIM/UIM card on the 3G/4G
modem.
cipher: Specifies the ciphertext PIN for the SIM/UIM card on the 3G/4G modem. The ciphertext PIN is
a string of 37 to 41 case-sensitive characters.
pin: Plaintext PIN of the SIM/UIM card on the modem if neither simple or cipher is specified, comprising
four to eight digits.
Usage guidelines
With PIN verification enabled on a 3G/4G modem, you will be required to type the correct PIN to
recover the data communications functions of the modem when the modem resets. The modem resets
when the router is rebooted, when you use the modem reboot command to reboot it, or when it is
hot-swapped. For an SIC-3G-CDMA module, PIN verification is required only when the router is cold
booted.
