When you press the halt button, you may see a system halt

Display
message similar to the one shown in Figure 6–3.

This message indicates that the halt button has been pressed. It
does not signify an error. Note that a halt message is not always
displayed.
If you have halted your system to access console commands, you
can continue now.
Screen Display
If you press the halt button on a workstation system running
DECwindows Motif with the OpenVMS AXP operating system,

the console prompt appears in the top left-hand corner of the

displayed at a time. The remainder of the screen continues to
display the DECwindows Motif session.
You can use only the following commands when your system is
