5. After the A> prompt, type: DDFMT and press RETURN. The diskette formatting program
message (Figure 4-5) appears on the video screen. Follow the instructions printed on the
screen.
SELECT DRIVE (A, B, C OR D) OR RETURN TO EXIT: B
INSERT (OR REINSERT) NEW DISK IN DRIVE B
TYPE RETURN TO CONTINUE, E TO EXIT:RETURN
A message on the left side of the screen informs you which track is being formatted (F) and
verified (V). The message is as follows.
F (V) TRACK 0-39
After formatting the last track, the program displays a completion message as follows.
V TRACK 39 - DISK FORMAT / VERIFY COMPLETE
6. Place a new diskette in drive B to format a second diskette.
INSERT NEW DISK IN DRIVE B
TYPE RETURN TO CONTINUE, E TO EXIT:RETURN
7. After formatting the second diskette, type E to exit the program.
