Section 5 - Advanced Network Configuration
In this mode one of your Option ports is assigned as the primary Internet link for all Internet traffic and the
secondary Option port is used for redundancy in case the primary link goes down for any reason. Both Option
ports (primary and secondary) must be configured to connect to the respective ISP's before enabling this feature.
The secondary Option port will remain unconnected until a failure is detected on the primary link (either port
can be assigned as the primary). In the event of a failure on the primary port, all Internet traffic will be rolled
over to the backup port. When configured in Auto-Failover mode, the link status of the primary Option port is
checked at regular intervals as defined by the failure detection settings.
1. Click Network > Internet (IPv4) > Option Mode.
2. Complete the fields from the table below, and click Save.

Auto-Rollover using Option Port

Select Auto-Rollover Using Option Port from the drop-down menu.
Select which Option port is the primary.
Select which port to use if the primary port fails.
• Option DNS Servers: DNS Lookup of the DNS Servers of the primary link is used to detect
primary Option connectivity.
• DNS Servers: DNS Lookup of the custom DNS Servers can be specified to check the connectivity
of the primary link.
• Ping these IP addresses: These IP's will be pinged at regular intervals to check the connectivity
of the primary link.
Enter the DNS server or IP address to ping.
Enter the time in seconds to initiate the Option health check. Default is every 30 seconds. The
number tells the controller how often it should run the above configured failure detection
method.
Enter the number of failures before the controller initiates the failover process.
