Jam and Misfeed Troubleshooting Procedures

Initial Actions
When a paper misfeed occurs, first check the following.
Check Item
Does the paper meet product specifications?
Is paper curled, wavy, or damp?
Is a foreign object present along the paper path, or is
the paper path deformed or worn?
Are the rolls/rollers dirty, deformed, or worn?
Are the Edge Guide and Trailing Edge Stop at the
correct position to accommodate the paper?
Are the actuators and sensors operational when
checked for correct operation?

Detection Timing
Type
Detection of misfeed The leading edge of the paper does not block the Registration Sensor (PC1)
at Tray 2 paper feed even after the lapse of a predetermined period of time after the Lower Feeder
section Paper Pick-up Solenoid (SL7 PF) has been energized.
