Software Maintenance eventually takes place. The customer
renewals are on a timely basis to avoid this After License Fee.
The pricing structure for Software Maintenance for iSeries is based on the
software group within which the covered system is contained.
The Software Subscription for iSeries offerings were
31 July 2003. They are replaced by this new Software Maintenance for iSeries
offering. Existing Software Subscription for iSeries contracts are honored through
to their renewal date. Software Subscription for iSeries customers who let their
contract lapse, and later want to re-establish their coverage, are subject to a
Software Maintenance After License Fee in addition to Software Maintenance for
iSeries offering charges.
Note: On 13 July 2004, IBM announced a single program number (5733-UX1
and UX3) to replace the existing two program numbers (5733-SX1 and
5733-SU1 or 5733-SX3 and 5733-SU3) for the one- and three- year coverage
options.
Products that are not listed within the eligible Software Maintenance for iSeries
products table have software upgrade entitlement and support available via
Passport Advantage. This is an IBM program that covers software license
acquisition and maintenance options under a single common set of agreements,
processes, and tools. Using Passport Advantage Online, IBM Clients can submit
contact updates, view purchase history, and more.
When you have moved to one of the Passport Advantage offerings for the
affected products, you receive an e-mail notification of the availability of refreshes
of software products that you can then download from a Passport Advantage
Web site. Or you can elect to have media refreshes shipped directly to you.
Note: If you have a current Passport Advantage Agreement, the contact for
media refreshes can be different than the contact currently receiving media
refreshes under your current terms.
If you have subscription agreements in effect, but have not enrolled in Passport
Advantage and have not been registered in Passport Advantage Express as of
15 August 15 2003 in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Asia Pacific
or by 16 January 16 2004 in Europe or the Middle East and Africa, you can
continue to order media for the duration of your coverage.
A listing of the iSeries software product number and correlating Passport
Advantage number is found in the following table.
