1.3.4. WARNING - The brake release buttons may be jammed after service work

Description
The brake release unit has push buttons for brake release of each axis motor. When service
work is performed inside the SMB recess that includes removal and refitting of the brake
release unit, the brake release buttons may be jammed after refitting!
In case the power is turned on while a brake release button is jammed in depressed position,
the affected motor brake is released! This may cause serious personal injuries and damage to
the robot!
Elimination
To eliminate the danger after service work has been performed inside the SMB recess, follow
the procedure below:

1.3.4. WARNING - The brake release buttons may be jammed after service work
Action
1. Make sure the power is turned off.
2. Refit the push button guard, if removed.
3. Check the push buttons of the brake release
unit by pressing them down, one by one.
Make sure none of the buttons are jammed by
the push button guard!
4. If a button gets jammed in the depressed
position, the alignment of the push button unit
must be adjusted so that the buttons can
move freely!
Remove the push button guard and:
make sure the centering piece (B) is
properly fitted to the unit. (The piece
aligns the unit vertically.)
adjust the unit sideways so that the
measurements x1 and x2 in the figure
to the right do not differ more than 1
mm from eachother.
5. Refit the push button guard and check the
buttons again by pressing them down, one by
one.
