Advertisement

Master—Forwarding IP packets addressed to the virtual router.
Backup—Eligible to become master and monitoring the state of the current master.
Initialize—Inactive; waiting for startup event.
Note
If a virtual router is in initialize state for longer than 20 seconds, this typically indicates
that you have a configuration problem, such as a virtual IP address that is not valid.
Check your VRRP configuration.
Location
The location section of the VRRP service status table displays the virtual router flags or the
primary address of the current virtual router master.
The location options are:
Local—The virtual router applies to addresses owned by the local router.
IP address—Primary address of the current virtual router master. Address 0.0.0.0 indicates
unknown.
Stats
The stats section of the VRRP service status table displays VRRP send and receive packet
statistics.
The Stats options are:
Advertisement Transmitted—Number of VRRP Advertisement packets sent.
Advertisement Received—Number of VRRP Advertisement packets received.
Bad Address List Received—Number of VRRP packets received and discarded due to
misconfigured address list.
Note
If the advertisement is from the address owner (priority=255) that packet is accepted,
even with the configuration mismatch.
Bad Advertise Interval Received—Number of VRRP packets received and discarded due
to misconfigured advertisement interval.
Authentication Mismatch—Number of VRRP packets received and discarded due to
misconfigured authentication type.
Authentication Failure—Number of VRRP packets received and discarded due to
authentication failure.
