 Filter setting
When an optional fi lter is installed, set the optional fi l-
ters in the initial Set mode. Optional fi lters are not se-
lected by default. (p. 47)
D Optional fi lter setting
q While holding down [SET], push [POWER] to enter
the initial Set mode.
w Push [UP Y] or [Z DN] one or more times until
"FIL" appears on the display.
e Rotate [DIAL] to select a desired fi lter.
• "no," "52A," "53A," "96," "222" and "257" indicate no
optional fi lter.
• FL-52A, FL-53A, FL-96, FL-222 and FL-257 indicate
the respective for 455 kHz IF fi lter selection.
r Push [PWR] to exit the initial Set mode, and turn
OFF the transceiver.
D Expanded fi lter selection
The selectable fi lter combinations can be expanded
by setting the expanded fi lter selection to ON. Then
an extra wide or narrow fi lter can be selected in de-
sired modes.
q While holding down [SET], push [PWR] to enter
the initial Set mode.
w Push [UP Y] or [Z DN] one or more times until
"EXP FIL" appears.
e Rotate [DIAL] to turn ON the ex-
panded fi lter selection.
• When ON set, the expanded fi lter
selection can be used.
• Wide/narrow fi lter selecting
r Push [UP Y] one or more times
until "WIDE " or "NAR " is
displayed.
t Push [MODE] one or more times
to select the desired mode.
y Rotate [DIAL] to select a fi lter.
u Repeat steps t and y to select
IF fi lters for other modes, if de-
sired.
• The fi lter combinations are stored
according to each operating mode.
i Push [POWER] to exit initial set
mode and turn OFF the trans-
ceiver.
