Symptom
Unable to The IP address is incorrect.
communicate (IP

The SIP user name is
incorrect.
The correct IP address of a
SIP server is not set in the
machine.
The specified SIP server in a
network is not active.
Registration of the machine
information to a SIP server
failed.
The IP fax (SIP) machine of
the recipient is abnormal.
The method for specifying
the recipient is incorrect.
You are using a feature such
as the polling feature that is
not supported by the
destination fax.
Cause
Set a correct IP address, subnet mask, and
gateway address on the machine.
Set a correct SIP user name in the machine.
Set a correct IP address of the SIP server on
the machine.
Consult your network administrator on the
SIP server condition.
Turn the machine off and then on.
The data cannot be sent if the IP fax (SIP)
machine of the recipient is turned off. Call
the recipient to confirm the machine
condition.
Specify the following recipient information:
Neither a SIP server nor a VoIP gateway is

used
Specify "SIP user name@IP address" in
[Recipient].
 Only a SIP server is used
Specify "SIP user name" or "telephone
number" in [Recipient].
Only VoIP gateway is used

Specify "telephone number" in [Recipient].
 Both SIP server and VoIP gateway are
used.
Specify "SIP user name" or "telephone
number" in [Recipient].
Confirm whether the destination fax supports
the feature.
