Roller Down Distance

The Roller Down Distance determines how far the heater lift cam rotates toward
the down position.
When the heated roller is down, the bias spring controls the roller pressure,
so the lift cam should not be touching the heater slide assembly.

Transport Apply Speed

The Transport Apply Speed setting controls the speed of the card during the
laminate application. Unless the printer is exhibiting signs of resonance during
the laminating process (such as excessive noise), this value should remain at the
factory default setting.

The heated roller moves closer to the platen roller. If
increased too much, the cam will rotate past center and
retract the heated roller.
The heated roller moves less distance downward.
Laminate does not adhere to the card.
• Increase the down distance. However, if the cam has
rotated past center, increasing the distance will actually
have the opposite effect.
Laminate stripping problems.
• Decrease the down distance. There may be a timing
issue in which it takes too long to retract the heated roller.
100 to 1800 (steps/sec.)
The transport motor stalls.
• Decrease the apply speed.
