Foil Advance Offset

The Foil Advance Offset determines how far the laminate material is advanced
between card cycles (topcoat) or after an index mark is detected (patch).
Patch Only: If the
setting the Foil Advance Offset to zero should position the leading edge of
the patch directly under the nip of the rollers.
Different offset values will be loaded for patch or topcoat laminate supplies.

Moves the patch closer to the heated roller or increases
the spacing between topcoat images.
Moves the patch further from the heated roller or
decreases the spacing between topcoat images.
Printing artifacts are observed on the leading edge of a
topcoated card.
• Increase the patch size. Even if there is a gap between
topcoat images, it may not be enough. The beginning
of the topcoat is reusing some of the topcoat material
that was already heated (but not applied) at the trailing
edge of the previous card.
Excessive use of topcoat material.
• Decrease the patch size. Having too large a gap
between topcoat images wastes material.
Patch material is too close to the leading edge of the
*
card.
• Decrease the foil advance offset.
Patch material is too far from the leading edge of the
*
