Removing the Server Board

1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See
Information" on page
2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3. Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see
System Cover" on page
4. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see
Duct" on page
5. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see
Assembly" on page
6. Detach all cables connected to the server board.
7. Remove the heat sink and the processor. For instructions, see
Sink and Processor" on page
8. Remove the DIMMs. For instructions, see
9. Remove the six screws from the server board. See letter "A" in the following
figure. Lift the server board from the server system (see letter "B").
