Installing or Replacing a PCI Riser Card

Caution: The PCI riser card is NOT hot swappable. Before removing or replacing the PCI riser
card, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected
to the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power
cord from the system or wall outlet.
You have the option to install one or two PCI riser cards into your server system:
A full-height PCI Express* riser with one PCI Express x8 slot. This riser card must
be installed on the right side of the bracket.
A full-height PCI-X* riser with one PCI-X slot. This riser card must be installed on
the left side of the bracket.
Note: To eliminate the possibility of installing the replacement connector on the wrong side of
the PCI riser assembly, replace one connector at a time.
