Cleaning the Suction Caps

The printer is equipped with suction caps for pre treatment liquids, ink, Density Enhancer Liquid, and
Over-Coating Liquid.

Suction caps for pre treatment liquid
The suction caps on the labeled row are for the Pre Treatment Liquid.

Suction caps for ink, Density Enhancer Liquids, and Over-Coating Liquids
If you do not clean the suction caps, doing Print Head Refresh is not fully effective. Follow the steps below to clean
the suction caps every week after powering on the printer and before running Print Head Refresh.

Important:
Clean the two different types of suction caps with separate cleaning sticks. Cleaning them with the same cleaning
stick may cause the suction caps to harden and prevent them from absorbing ink.

From the Maintenance screen on the control panel, touch Weekly - Suction Cap, in that order.

Check the on-screen message, and then touch Start.
The print head moves to the right side of the front of the printer.

Open the maintenance cover (left).
