Step 1.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the hot-swap power supply unit to any unpainted
surface on the outside of the server. And then, take the hot-swap power supply unit out of the
package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Step 2.
If there is a power-supply-unit filler installed, remove it.

Step 3.
Slide the new hot-swap power supply unit into the bay until it snaps into position.

Step 4.
Connect the power supply unit to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
• For 240 V DC power supply units:
1. Turn off the server.
2. Connect one end of the power cord to the power connector on the power supply unit.
3. Connect the other end of the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
• For AC power supply units:
1. Connect one end of the power cord to the power connector on the power supply unit.
2. Connect the other end of the power cord to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
