Job aid: Configuration example
This configuration example uses the preceding commands to write a log file,
set the logging level, and turn on the screen display. The example also uses
the info command to display log information.

Configuring log filters
The Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 provides the ability to suppress or
highlight log messages of interest through the use of log filters. Use the
following procedure to configure log filters.

Value
Sets the log display on the screen to on or off.
•
setting is off or on. The default is off.
Writes the log file with the designated string.
•
str is the string or command that you append
to the log file. If the string contains spaces, you
must enclose the string in quotation marks.
Enables or disables logging to the PCMCIA. The
default is enable (true).
