Opening and closing
To close the convenience doors from out‐

Object recognition
Object recognition uses several sensors to moni‐
tor the opening range of the convenience doors
in order to detect objects. If one of the sensors
detects an object, the convenience doors are
stopped and a warning is displayed in the multi‐
media system.

Even if the convenience doors are equipped with
sensors, it cannot be guaranteed that all objects
are detected. Object recognition is only an aid
and is not a substitute for the attention of the
vehicle occupants to their immediate surround‐
ings when opening and closing the convenience
doors. The vehicle occupants are always respon‐
sible for opening and closing the doors safely.

When opening the convenience doors,

pay particular attention to low objects
and obstacles in the side window area.
Object detection does not always
detect such objects at close range,
especially during movement. The vehi‐
cle or other objects could otherwise be
damaged.
