and cyclists.
Situation-dependent braking assistance
If the vehicle is travelling at speeds above
approximately 7 km/h, situation-dependent
braking assistance may intervene in the follow‐
ing situations.
Vehicles without Driving Assistance Package:
At speeds up to approximately 250 km/h

when approaching vehicles ahead.
At speeds up to approximately 80 km/h
R
when approaching cyclists ahead, pedes‐
trians walking in the direction of travel and
stationary vehicles.
At speeds up to approximately 70 km/h
R
when approaching crossing pedestrians and
cyclists.
At speeds up to approximately 60 km/h
R
when approaching stationary pedestrians
and cyclists.
Vehicles with Driving Assistance Package:
At speeds up to approximately 250 km/h
R
when approaching vehicles ahead.
At speeds up to approximately 120 km/h
R
when approaching crossing vehicles, pedes‐
trians and cyclists.
At speeds up to approximately 100 km/h
R
when approaching stationary vehicles.
At speeds up to approximately 80 km/h
R
when approaching cyclists ahead.
At speeds up to approximately 70 km/h

when approaching stationary pedestrians
and cyclists.
Cancelling a brake application of Active
Brake Assist
You can cancel a brake application of Active
Brake Assist at any time by:
Fully depressing the accelerator pedal or
R
with kickdown.
Releasing the brake pedal.
R
Active Brake Assist may cancel the brake appli‐
cation when one of the following conditions is
fulfilled:
you manoeuvre to avoid the obstacle
R
there is no longer a risk of collision
R
an obstacle is no longer detected in front of
R
your vehicle
Reaction to oncoming road users (only vehi‐
cles with Driving Assistance Package)
Active Brake Assist can also react to detected
oncoming road users:
Reaction up to speeds of approximately
R
100 km/h
Warning for oncoming road users through
R
acoustic warning and warning lamp
Autonomous braking application in order to
R
reduce the severity of an accident
