If a warning is given in the driver's display, the
multimedia system offers to search for a rest
area. You can select a rest area and start naviga‐
tion to this rest area.
If you restart the vehicle, ATTENTION ASSIST
with microsleep detection is automatically acti‐
vated. The last selected sensitivity level remains
stored.
System limits
ATTENTION ASSIST is active in the 60 km/h to
200 km/h speed range.
The microsleep detection function is available at
a speed of 20 km/h and above.
Particularly in the following situations, ATTEN‐
TION ASSIST only functions in a restricted man‐
ner and warnings may be delayed or not occur:
If you have been driving for less than approx‐
R
imately 30 minutes.
If the road condition is poor (uneven road
R
surface or potholes).
If there is a strong side wind.
R
If you adopt a sporty driving style (high cor‐
R
nering speeds or high rates of acceleration).
If the Steering Assist function of Active Dis‐
R
tance Assist DISTRONIC is active.
If the clock is set to the incorrect time.
R
If you change lanes and vary your speed fre‐
R
quently in active driving situations.
Microsleep detection also does not function
when the driver camera cannot detect the driv‐
er's eyes, for example as a result of the following
factors:
The driver's eyes are covered due to the
R
steering column position, for example.
Poor lighting conditions.
R
Some types of spectacles or sunglasses.
R
The driver's line of vision is outside the driver
R
camera's field of vision.
Also observe any information regarding display
messages that can be displayed in the driver's
display.

The tiredness and alertness assessment of
ATTENTION ASSIST with microsleep detection is
reset and restarted when continuing the journey
in the following situations:
You switch off the vehicle.
R
If you unfasten your seat belt and open the
R
driver's door (e.g. to change drivers or take a
break).
Cruise control and limiter
Function of cruise control
Cruise control regulates the speed to the value
selected by the driver.
If you accelerate to overtake, for example, the
stored speed is not deleted. If you remove your
foot from the accelerator pedal after overtaking,
cruise control will resume speed regulation back
to the stored speed.
You can store any speed above 20 km/h up to
the maximum design speed, up to the speed rec‐
ommended by range monitoring or up to the set
winter tyre limit. The speed recommended by
