420 Wheels and tyres
* NOTE Risk of trapping the jack
If the AIRMATIC system has released air
when raising the vehicle, the jack can
become trapped when the vehicle is lowered.
Start the drive system. This adapts the
#
vehicle level.
Remove the jack from under the vehi‐
#
cle.
To lower the vehicle: place the ratchet onto
#
the hexagon nut of the jack so that the let‐
ters "AB" are visible and turn anti-clockwise.
Tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diagonal
#
pattern in the order indicated
an initial maximum force of 80 Nm.
Tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diagonal
#
pattern in the order indicated
the specified tightening torque of 150 Nm.
& WARNING Risk of accident due to incor‐
rect tightening torque
The wheels could come loose if the wheel
bolts or wheel nuts are not tightened to the
prescribed torque.
Ensure that the wheel bolts or wheel
#
nuts are tightened to the prescribed
tightening torque.
If you are not sure, do not move the
#
vehicle. Contact a qualified specialist
workshop and have the tightening tor‐
que checked immediately.
Check the tyre pressure of the newly fitted
#
wheel and adjust it if necessary.

The wheel or tyre size and the tyre type of
