Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
Function of Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC maintains the
set speed on free-flowing roads. If vehicles in
front are detected, the set distance is main‐
tained, if necessary, until the vehicle comes to a
halt. The vehicle accelerates or brakes depend‐
ing on the distance to the vehicle in front and
the set speed. The speed and distance to the
vehicle in front are set and saved using the
steering wheel.

standstill, it can automatically follow the vehicle
in front when driving off again within 30 sec‐
onds. If a critical situation is detected in the sur‐
rounding area when driving off, such as a person

style of Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
can be set. Depending on which drive pro‐
gram is selected, the driving characteristics
can be geared towards saving energy, com‐
fort or dynamic performance. In the Active
Distance Assist menu, the driving style can
be permanently set to Comfort or Dynamic
