In these cases, the desired deceleration is set by
the brake control system. Also brake with the
service brake if necessary.
Manually setting recuperative deceleration
You can use the steering wheel gearshift paddles
to manually adjust the intensity of recuperation
in overrun mode.

When the vehicle is started again, the follow‐
ing recuperation level is set:
hÃ: if hà was selected previ‐
R
ously.
h: if a recuperation level other than
R
hà was selected previously.
The following recuperation levels are available:
hà Intelligent and anticipatory recuper‐
R
ation with ECO Assist (
page 196)

hq No recuperation: the vehicle coasts,
R
rolls freely
h Normal recuperation
R
h± Increased recuperation: increased
R
deceleration in overrun mode
To increase recuperation: briefly pull gear‐

shift paddle 1.
To reduce recuperation: briefly pull gear‐
#
shift paddle 2.
Select hÃ: pull and hold gearshift pad‐
#
dle
1
or 2.
The driver's display shows the currently selected
recuperation level next to the transmission posi‐
tion display.
