If there is an active/standby switchover due to one the reasons above, a
duplex communications error is detected at the CPU Unit, and the corre-
sponding Duplex Communications Switched Flag (A43600 to A43615: bits
00 to 15 correspond to the unit number) turns ON. The reason for the
switch is recorded in the Duplex Communications Switch Cause Flags
(A042 to A049).
• If an error is detected in the standby Controller Link Unit by self-diagnosis,
a duplex communications error is detected at the CPU Unit, and the corre-
sponding Duplex Communications Standby Unit Error Flag (A43700 to
A43715: bits 00 to 15 correspond to the unit number) turns ON. The
active Unit will continue to operate normally and communications will con-
tinue. There will be no active/standby switchover.
In CS1D Systems, a Controller Link Units with an error can be replaced with-
out turning OFF the PLC's power supply (online replacement). For details on
the procedure for online replacement, refer to page 294.
Replacing a standby Controller Link Unit has no effect on communications.
When an active Controller Link Unit is replaced, there is an active/standby
switchover. The relevant node will temporarily leave and then re-enter the net-
work and communications operations will be temporarily stopped. For details
on the time required for communications to resume, refer to 8-5 Switching
Time for Duplex Units.
The online replacement procedure is performed from a Programming Con-
sole.

the following Duplex-compatible Controller Link Units.
