PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK
In this type of configuration, the power supply is connected directly to a computer that is not a
network server. The power supply configures its own IP address and other settings.
4.7.4.3

Power-up the LAN Power Supply

The power supply LAN option automatically detects if it is connected or disconnected from a
network. It automatically searches for a network server and receives or creates an IP address. It
will also broadcast its IP address and hostname to all other devices on the network.
1.
Apply the AC power and switch ON the power supply.
2.
Connect the LAN cable before or after the power supply is switched ON.
3.
For a network with a DHCP server, wait about 10 seconds.
The rear panel green LAN Status LED turns ON.
4.
For a peer-to-peer Auto IP configuration, wait about 60 seconds.
The rear panel green LAN Status LED turns ON.
The computer screen may show LAN notification, "This connection has limited or no
connectivity".
5.
For a peer-to-peer static IP configuration, wait about 10 seconds.
The rear panel green LAN Status LED turns ON.
The computer screen may show LAN notification, "This connection has limited or no
connectivity".
Power Supply IP address can be viewed via the Front Panel or communication.
If the green LAN Status LED does not turn ON, refer to Section 4.7.5.3 - LAN Reset to perform
LAN Reset.
