Problem

The engine does not start.
You are trying to start the engine while the selec-
tor lever is in D or R.
SBC Stop or SBC Hold is activated.
The engine is not running
The engine electronics or a mechanical compo-
smoothly and is misfiring.

Suggested solutions
Move the selector lever to P.
Turn the key back to position 0 in the ignition
lock before the next starting attempt.
Repeat the starting procedure ( page 58).
Deactivate SBC Stop ( page 170) or
SBC Hold ( page 173).
Repeat the starting procedure ( page 58).
Do not use too much throttle.
Have the problem rectified immediately. Con-
sult your PLM or a qualified specialist work-
shop, e.g. an SLR Service Centre.
Otherwise, unburned fuel may get into the cata-
lytic converter and damage it.
